The ‘yucky’ original according to my favourite little lady!
I think green is the new pink. Loving the pink piping though!
PINK! Chosen by my favourite little lady. The original lampshade was green, but that’s ‘yucky’ apparently, so we had to change it to pink!
Lampshade from Wolf&Badger
A self portrait and demonstration of my love of beautiful things (the shade, not my legs.)
Continuing my obsession with these gorgeous lampshades from Wolf&Badger, I took inspiration from the large tripod lamps I see in the shops and added my own surrealist twist.
Then I got all deep and conceptual about self worth and self belief and what I want for all the daughters in the world as they grow up. I wish I had understood this when I was a little girl.
A surrealist narrative: Ode to our daughters.
‘Be lit from within and shine your light. May your fire burn and illuminate the world. You do not require the light from others to for you to be seen. You are the light and you shine from within.’
End.
Another awesome lampshade. ‘I’m kind of in love with this one, it’s so pretty. I may have to use it again.
The processing turned out slightly different on this image. I love the depth of shadow under the lampshade and through the back and how it contrasts with the flatness of the chest of drawers.
Conceptually, I’m exploring the meeting of functionality between forms: the living and once was living; the static and supposedly animated – although not in this series! The materials these objects were made from were all once parts of living things. Now de-animated for our functional consumption and aesthetic requirements.
